Raising the minimum wage in Poland

In 2024, the minimum wage and the minimum hourly rate will be increased in Poland twice: on January 1 and July 1.
From January, the minimum wage is set at 4242 PLN, and from July 1 it will be 4300 PLN.
The minimum hourly rate will also increase: from January 1 it was 27.7 PLN per hour, from July 1 it will be increased to 28.10 PLN per hour. This is the minimum amount of remuneration to which an employee is entitled under a contract of mandate or provision of services.
This means that from July 1, employees cannot receive remuneration lower than 4300 PLN per month under an employment contract, and 28.1 PLN per hour under a mandate or service contract.
An increase in the minimum wage and the minimum hourly rate means an increase in the costs of employing an employee for employers. The employer must update the concluded contracts – add an annex indicating the current salary indicators.
